Centronuclear Myopathy

Centronuclear Myopathy(CNM) is an inherited muscular disease in the Labrador Retriever. Symptoms include poor muscle tone, muscle weakness, abnormal posture, stiff hopping gait, and exercise intolerance particularly in cold conditions. Despite never developing properly functioning muscle tissue, affected Labs will usually have a normal life span.

VetNostic Laboratories’ genetic tests for Centromuclear Myopathy can reliably identify dogs that are either clear, or possess one or two copies of the CNM causing gene. This clear, carrier, or affected result can help breeders determine which animals to include in their breeding program.

Volume discounts are available for Breeder Clubs, etc. Please contact us for more information.
